The National Weather Service issued a freezing rain advisory for some of southern Connecticut until 11 a.m.
NWS officials issued the advisory for:
Weather officials said light rain may be turning to light freezing rain mixed with sleet in some locations from the lower Hudson Valley, interior northeastern New Jersey and most of southern Connecticut, west of the Connecticut River.
Officials said a light glaze of ice could cause slippery travel and motorists are being asked to travel with caution.
