A man from New Fairfield is facing manslaughter charges after police said he shot and killed his wife during an altercation.
It happened around 7 p.m. Saturday night at the couple's home on Hill Top Drive.
According to investigators, Robert Bell, 63, shot his wife four times in the chest during an argument.
When emergency crews arrived at the scene, police said his wife, identified as Svetlana Bell, 47, was unresponsive. She was taken to Danbury hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Robert Bell is now facing several charges including first-degree manslaughter, and disorderly conduct.
He's scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court on Monday, Dec. 10.
The shooting remains under investigation.
