EHL Consulting’s Founder to be featured speaker for the Baltimore Board of Rabbis.
Baltimore, MD (PRWEB) December 13, 2012
Robert I. Evans, Founder and Managing Director of the Philadelphia fundraising firm The EHL Consulting Group, will join the Baltimore Board of Rabbis to present a special workshop reviewing the critical implications for synagogue fundraising strategies, based on the results of Giving USA’s most recent findings and coupled with information from other recent reports on the role of religion and giving.
The presentation on the state of giving for religious nonprofits in the United States will be held on Thursday, December 13th, 2012. The event is designed for members of the Baltimore Board of Rabbis, and is invitation-only. As a professional association that gathers together rabbis from all areas of Judaism, the Baltimore Board of Rabbis provides opportunities for these rabbis to provide each other with collegial support, plus engage in professional development opportunities in diverse settings and situations.
The Giving USA Annual Report for 2011, which was released earlier this year, is the only historically-reliable source of data about charitable giving that estimates how much was given by four distinct types of donors, and also reports on estimated contributions for 10 different categories of nonprofits.
“There are critical implications for Jewish fundraising professionals within the Report,” states Mr. Evans. “The data indicates that for the first time in many years, giving to religious organizations decreased. What does this mean for rabbis in Baltimore? Are Jewish professionals able to gain back the philanthropic support that they are now losing to secular causes, such as education and social services?”
Mr. Evans is an expert in the field of philanthropy and will offer his perspective on how the Report’s results impact current giving patterns to synagogues, influence the success of contemporary fundraising campaigns, and what this means for the development strategies of local and national synagogues.
