Two Bridgeport men were arrested after police said one of them led officers on a foot pursuit and stole an iPhone from a person in Wentfield Park Tuesday night.
The robbery occurred near the intersection of Hanover and State streets and police were called to the area after the suspect, who was later identified as Miguel Rodriguez, 24, fired a shot into the air.
Police located Rodriguez in a car with two other men. Police said the suspect ran out of the car and officers had to chase him over fences and through backyards.
Rodriguez was eventually caught by police and arrested. He was charged with first-degree robbery and conspiracy. He is being held on a $75,000 bond.
Police also arrested Edwin Santos, 21, and charged him with motor vehicle violations, interfering with police and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The robbery is still under investigation and police are trying to locate another suspect.
Anyone with any information is asked to call the Bridgeport Police Department at 203-581-5100
