Police arrested the man accused of killing a volunteer firefighter with his car after a head-on collision in March.
Southwick, MA native Shaun Phelps, 29, turned himself into police Wednesday and was charged with negligent homicide with a motor vehicle, failure to keep right on a curve and failure to wear a seatbelt in the front seat of a vehicle.
The crash occurred in the area of 3876 Old Mountain Rd. on March 28. According to police, the truck Phelps was driving veered across the center line of the road and struck a vehicle driven by 60-year old Paul Simison.
Phelps was released and will appear in Enfield Superior Court Dec. 20.
