NORWICH, CT (WFSB) -
Backus Hospital in Norwich is restricting visitors because of a high number of flu cases.
Starting Friday, no one under the age of 18 will be allowed to make hospital visits. And they're asking anyone with a cough, sore throat or fever not to visit and stay home.
Backus says they've had nine positive flu tests in the past week and 14 so far this season. In addition to the number of patients who had flu-like symptoms, but were not tested, hospital officials said.
Residents of the area can receive flu shots at the Montville and Colchester Backus health centers. People can call 860-823-1189, ext. 123 to set up an appointment.
