Holiday display to be changed for victims of Newtown school shooting

NEWTOWN, CT (WFSB) -

The Holiday Light Fantasia in Hartford will honor the memory of those killed during the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.

On Friday morning, Adam Lanza walked into the elementary school and shot and killed 20 children and six adults. According to Chief Medical Examiner Dr. H. Wayne Carver, all of the victims were shot with a rifle, some of them at close range, and all were shot more than once.

Holiday Light Fantasia in Goodwin Park benefits the Channel 3 Kids Camp in Andover. The camp has been helping children for more than 100 years build lifelong friendships at an accessible and inclusive camping experience.

Volunteers with the will be changing the bulbs ‘Path of Angels' display to reflect the victims of the school shooting.

"The green and white angels will shine bright in loving memory of the innocent children and heroic staff that lost their lives in the Dec. 14 tragedy," said

Earlier this year, the trailers for the Holiday Light Fantasia were broken into November. No suspects have been arrested at this point.
