New Milford Schools will be closed on Friday after a high number of threats, according to police and the school superintendent.
According to a statement from police, "Given the recent events in Connecticut concerning safety and well being of our students, the New Milford police department recommended to the superintendent's office that it was in the best interest of the community that the appropriate decision was to cancel school Friday, Dec. 21, 2012."
School officials wished students a safe holiday season. Classes will resume Jan. 2, 2013
Following the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, where 26 people were killed, including 20 children, police and school officials felt it was best to cancel school for Friday.
