New Haven police arrest man for burglary

NEW HAVEN, CT (WFSB) -

Police arrested a Hamden man after he tried to run out of a home he is accused of trying to burglarize.

Officers were called to a home on Bassett Street at 5:12 p.m. after reports a man was kicking the back door of a home in the area.

When officers arrived, they heard someone walking inside. When police announced their presence, the man ran toward for the front door where he ran into officers and was arrested.

Dwayne Randolph, 42, was charged with several crimes including first-degree burglary.

No one was home during the incident and no officers were injured making the arrest.
