Firefighters had to battle a blaze at an abandoned mill Monday night off of Appleton Street.
According to Lt. Thomas Paquin, the owner of the mill claimed he was cutting pipes, which started the fire.
When crews arrived, they found heavy smoke coming from the building.
Holyoke police tell CBS 3 that they had to close off a one-block section of Appleton Street while the firefighters took care of the fire.
