HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -
New adult drivers in Connecticut will need a learner's permit before taking the road test in order to obtain a driver's license.
The 3-month permit will be mandatory for drivers 18 years old and older.
Applicants will receive the permit after passing a 25-question test, as well as a vision test.
They will also be required to take a safe driving course.
In the past, adult drivers were not required to complete a training period before getting a license.
