PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Phoenix police chased and caught a man after a dump truck pulling a backhoe was stolen from a nearby construction site Wednesday morning.

The truck was reported stolen around 7:18 a.m. near 51st Avenue and Cactus Road and police followed it into a cul de sac near 43rd Avenue and Sweetwater Road.

The truck, which had Black Hills Excavating on its door, was driven by a man police described as armed and dangerous.

Police said the suspect bailed from the truck when it ran into the cul de sac, but they soon caught the him after a brief chase in the neighborhood.

No other information was immediately available.
