A former Windsor Board of Education member, who was arrested after trying to meet a 14-year-old girl for sex, was sentenced to 10 years in prison, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office in Florida.
Christopher Watts, 38, pleaded guilty to attempting to negotiate a sexual liaison with a minor.
Watts will serve 10 years in prison, followed by 20 years of supervised release.
According to police, Watts expressed interest in traveling to have sex with a 14 year old in an online chat with an undercover agent in March.
He traveled to Orlando and was arrested by agents from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
