This past week, legislation approved by Congress gave a reprieve on potential cutbacks to Westover Air Reserve Base and Barnes Air National Guard Base in Westfield.
According to CBS 3 media partner Mass Live and The Republican, the legislation that was also signed by President Barack Obama will require the Air Force Reserve to re-study its plans for the C-5 planes that are kept at Westover.
Plans had called for half of the 16 cargo jets to be relocated to Texas.
It also appears that 10 jobs at Barnes that were likely going to be cut have been saved.
