GLASTONBURY, CT (WFSB) -

The Glastonbury Police Department arrested a 22-year-old man after they said he set an early morning fire in November at a home on Stanley Drive while four people were sleeping inside.

Aharon Ron of Glastonbury was arrested by East Central Narcotics Task Force Tuesday and was charged with first-degree arson, first-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief and tampering with physical evidence as well as two counts of second-degree making a false statement.

According to police, Ron started the fire onside an attached garage at the home of Stanley Drive around 3 a.m. The fire destroyed the garage and spread to the exterior walls and roof. The home would be declared a total loss by fire officials.

Ron told police that he "was intoxicated and angry when he set the fire."

All four residents of the home were sleeping at the time of the fire, however they were able to wake up and get out of the home before being seriously injured, police said.

Ron is held on an $800,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned at Manchester Superior Court Wednesday.
