Officers were called to an area near Selleck Street Monday after receiving a report of a body in water.
Responding officers pulled the body from the water and determined the male to be deceased. The state medical examiner's officer was called and transported the male for an autopsy.
The victim was positively identified as Alexander Fried, 28, after the Norwalk detective bureau contacted family members.
Fried was found floating in the Norwalk River around 9:40 a.m., police said.
