A New Haven man was arrested after police said he sexually assaulted a child from Wallingford for a six-year period.
Augustine Castro, 33, was charged with two counts of risk of injury to a minor and one court of first-degree sexual assault.
Police said Castro sexually assaulted a child between the ages of six and eight from 2001 to 2006.
The victim reported the incidents to police in September, and Castro was arrested.
He is being held on a $200,000 bond and was arraigned in Meriden Superior Court Thursday. He is scheduled to appear in court again on Jan. 23.
