A water main break was reported in Hartford on Friday afternoon.
Few details about the break have been released, but Hartford police said the break was reported in the area of Hudson Street and Capitol Avenue.
Police said crews working to repair the break are optimistic that they would be completed quickly, but drivers are being asked to avoid the area if possible.
The area is the main artery for access to Hartford Hospital, state buildings and the Capitol. Emergency vehicles or any other vehicles needing access to the hospital should take Main Street and Jefferson Street if entering from the east, and Washington Street from the west.
