Ice plays havoc with traffic on Scottsdale Road

(Source: CBS 5 News) Scottsdale Road between Ashler Hills Drive to Lone Mountain Road was closed in both directions Wednesday morning due to ice on the road.

SCOTTSDALE, AZ (CBS5) -

Ice from a water leak caused Scottsdale traffic officials to close the main north-to-south thoroughfare in the far north reaches of the city Wednesday morning.

Scottsdale Road between Ashler Hills Drive to Lone Mountain Road was closed in both directions just before 6:30 a.m. due to ice on the road. Traffic officials reopened one of two southbound lanes around 8:30 a.m.

Scottsdale police said a water leak created the icy coating in north Scottsdale.

No other information was immediately available.
