The Naugatuck Police Department has arrested two men after investigators said they assaulted another man before that man fell out of a four-story home Thursday morning.
Officers were called to a home on Pond Street where they found Saloman Martinez, 24, of Stratford lying on the sidewalk just before 2:30 a.m.
Investigators determined that Martinez had fallen out of a window on the fourth floor of the home.
Martinez was taken to Waterbury Hospital with serious head and body injuries. He remains in critical condition, police said.
Kyle Gonzalez, 20, and Matthew Chandler, 20, both of Naugatuck was arrested after police said he hit Salomon inside the apartment before Salomon fell.
Both men were charged with first-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree threatening, second-degree breach of peace, first-degree conspiracy to assault, first-degree conspiracy to reckless endangerment, second-degree conspiracy to threatening and second-degree conspiracy to breach of peace.
The incident is being investigated by the Naugatuck Police Department along with the Connecticut State Police Major Crime Unit. Anyone with any information is asked to call Naugatuck police at 203-729-7106.
