Silver alert triggered after babysitter took baby to party

BRIDGEPORT, CT (WFSB) -

A babysitter in Bridgeport is facing charges after taking a 2-year-old to a pool party, triggering a silver alert.

Investigators said 20-year-old Samya Quinones was watching 2-year-old McKenzie Hill in Bridgeport on Saturday and then too the child to a pool party in Stratford without permission.

The toddler's mother called police when she couldn't get a hold of the babysitter.

That triggered a long investigation and a silver alert.

The child was found safe.

Quinones is charged with risk of injury to a minor.
