Crossing guards are the ones who keep children safe while getting to and from school everyday regardless of what the weather is like outside, and now it is your chance to honor your favorite crossing guard.
For the sixth year, AAA Arizona is calling for nominations for its annual Crossing Guard of the Year Award.
Whether you're a student, parent, school administrator, faculty, staff, community member or a crossing guard yourself, AAA wants you to nominate the person you believe deserves to be the Crossing Guard of the Year. After all nominations have been submitted, AAA's traffic safety staff will select the finalists for the award based on their dedication, friendliness, professionalism and safety.
Two honorees, one from Maricopa County and one from Pima County, will then be awarded the Crossing Guard of the Year Award plus a $100 gift card to Target courtesy of AAA Arizona.
All nominations must be submitted by March 12, 2013. The winners will be announced on Crossing Guard Appreciation Day, April 26, 2013.
Nomination forms are available at all Maricopa County and Pima County school district offices or can be downloaded online at www.az.aaa.com. Completed forms can be mailed to: AAA Arizona, Attn: Public Affairs, 2375 E. Camelback Rd. Suite. 500, Phoenix, AZ, 85016, faxed to 602-266-1736, or emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
