Posted: Updated:

The New Haven Police Department is investigating the shooting death of a 29-year-old man - the second homicide in the city this week.

Officers were called to the Dunkin Donuts on 295 Blake St. near the intersection of Fitch Street just after 6:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, police found Lonni Star of New Haven suffering from one gunshot wound. He was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police determined during their investigation that Star was shot in the area of Lodge Street and driven to the Dunkin Donuts by a woman. She would call 911 once they arrived at the Dunkin Donuts.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call police at 203-946-6316 or the New Haven Police "Tips Line" at 203-946-2875.
