Multiple firearms, drugs seized during raid in Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT, CT (WFSB) -

A special police task force was able to arrest three men and seize several firearms during a raid Friday.

The Statewide Urban Violence Cooperative Crime Control Task Force executed a warrant at 241 Lewis St. and arrested David Pride, 59.

Pride, who has a long criminal history, was charged with five counts criminal possession of a firearm and possession of a sawed-off shotgun. He is being held on $100,000 bond.

Investigators seized the following weapons during the raid.

  • 40-caliber rifle
  • Sawed-off shotgun
  • Two loaded handguns
  • Rifle with a scope
  • Ammunition
  • .177-caliber pellet gun

The task force executed a warrant at 716 Iranistan Ave. where Robert Franklin, 24, of Stratford, tried to flee from them.

Franklin was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of marijuana within 1,500 feet of a school. He is being held on a $5,000 bond.

Police also arrested Jimmy Joyner, 48, and charged him with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of marijuana within 1,500 feet of a school, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Joyner, who has a long criminal history, is being held on a $100,000 bond.

Investigators were able to seize 7 grams of crack cocaine, 9 grams of marijuana, packaging materials and $1,462.
