At a news conference Monday, Gov. Dannel Malloy along with other officials will announce new legislation being introduced that will improve the state's ability to assist residents who have been impacted by a natural disaster or other emergency.
The announcement, which is expected to be made around noon, will be held in the Cosey Beach section of East Haven. Cosey Beach was hit hard when Hurricane Sandy moved through the area last year.
After the announcement, Malloy will tour other areas hit hard by the storm including areas in Old Saybrook.
