Avon standoff suspect to appear in court

HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

The man from Avon accused of barricading himself inside a home on Lovely Street last month is set to appear in court.

Police said 51-year-old Brian Benjamin told them he was armed and made threats against himself and responding police offices during a standoff in December.

After several hours, Benjamin was brought to a nearby hospital for evaluation and was then brought to jail.

He's being held on $1 million bond.
