The Norwich Police Department said they arrested a city man Wednesday on drug and weapons charges after officers executed a search and seizure warrant.
Officers arrested Matthew Blacha, 39, of 58 Woods Rd., and charged him with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to sell, possession of narcotics, two counts of criminal possession of a firearm and theft of a firearm.
Police officers seized 278 bags of heroin, 47 methadone tablets, more than $250 in cash, two firearms and a 200 Dodge Dakota pickup truck.
Police said the heroin had an estimated street value of $3,000. Blacha was held on a $250,000 bond is and scheduled to appear in Norwich Superior Court Jan. 31.
