TUCSON, AZ (CBS5) -
Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents seized $682,500 worth of marijuana during four separate incidents Tuesday.
Ajo agents from the Horse Patrol Unit checked out suspected narcotics smuggling near the village of Pia Oik. They discovered four bundles of abandoned marijuana, weighing 292 pounds, with an estimated value of $146,000.
Ajo agents from the All-Terrain Vehicle Unit found 249 pounds of abandoned marijuana, worth $124,500, southeast of the Lukeville Port of Entry.
Agents assigned to the Ajo Field Training Unit, responding to reports of suspected drug smuggling, discovered six bundles of abandoned marijuana weighing 268 pounds and valued at $134,000.
A Nogales Border Patrol canine team and agents, assisted by the Office of Air and Marine, discovered 11 abandoned bundles of marijuana weighing 556 pounds and valued at $278,000.
All seized narcotics will be turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
