Fire crews respond to Coginchaug HS after smoke reported

DURHAM, CT (WFSB) -

School was disrupted for more than 30 minutes after smoke was discovered inside Coginchaug High School in Durham Monday morning.

According to fire officials, the smoke came from a piece of machinery inside the copy room around 7:30 a.m.

Students and staff were evacuated and fire officials were called, but it was quickly learned that there was no fire and students were allowed back into the school's gym to keep warm.

Fire officials said no one was injured during the incident.

After the air was determined to be safe and students returned to classes. The whole incident lasted about 35 minutes
