TEMPE, AZ (CBS5) -
A 25-year-old Tempe woman was arrested and booked into jail on a variety of felony charges in connection with the robbery of two Arizona State University students from China on Jan. 23.
Robin Lynn Routt allegedly asked the two women as they got off a bus to assist her with her bra because she had hurt her shoulder, according to a court document.
Routt and the victims went to a Subway shop on South College Avenue, where Routt obtained a restroom key and led the victims into the restroom about 2:55 p.m., according to the document. The victims told police Routt said she had a gun and ordered the victims to give her their purses, though no weapon was displayed, according to the document.
The women were told to face the wall before Routt fled out a back door with the victims' bags that contained two iPhones, an iPad 2 and other belongings, according to the document.
Police recovered an iPhone and iPad 2 from Tempe pawn shops, and Routt was identified as the person who sold them. Later, a photograph of Routt was compared with and matched surveillance video at the pawn shop, according to the document.
Police arrested Routt on Friday afternoon at her Tempe home, where two wallets belonging to the victims were found, according to the document. Routt later admitted to investigators she took the purses, but denied saying she had a weapon.
A generic form of Vicodin was also found on Routt, according to the document.
She was booked into Tempe City Jail on one count of drug possession, two counts of armed robbery, three counts of trafficking stolen property and four other felony charges related to the crime, according to the document.
