It hasn't even been open a year, but already neighbors say a local business has worn out its welcome.
Police have been called to Club Dream more than 30 times for incidents ranging from vandalism to shootings, and those who live and work in the area say enough is enough.
Law enforcement, council members, neighbors and Metro Codes officials all say Club Dream is a problem, and now those who want to see it go may get their wish.
"There's been shootings - just, the crowd that shows up. I've heard people have had guns on them, lots of drugs," said Matthew Schipani, who works near the club.
Hector Correa runs a body shop nearby and said the club's patrons park in his lot and trash it.
"Alcohol bottles, broken glass," he said.
Correa said several of his car windows have even been busted out, so he's installed a better video surveillance system.
Club Dream, which is off 14th Avenue North near Church Street, describes itself as a members-only after-hours club.
The club has been open for six months, and, according to police records, officers have been called to the club about 30 times just since November.
Just before Christmas, a man and woman were shot outside the club. A month before that, another man was shot outside.
And only a few weeks ago, shots were fired again, but no one was hurt.
Neighbors said the police presence has increased, but they feel that's not enough, considering some in the area are now afraid to be out in the area after dark.
"We would prefer them just to go," Schipani said.
"We have an apartment complex in that area, been a couple shootings. Maybe some bullets will go through the windows and kill an innocent person, so that's the thing we have to tackle down before it happens," Correa said.
Channel 4 News spoke with Metro Codes officials who said they have filed a lawsuit against Club Dream, saying it's operating as a private after-hours club but has no after-hours permit.
The codes department is asking a judge to shut down the business until there's a hearing on the issue, but the club's owner told Channel 4 News he is already planning to close the club for good after Saturday because of all the complaints.
