The Tempe City Council has appointed Andrew Ching as the interim city manager, to fill a space left by the Jan. 28 firing of Charlie Meyer.
Tempe spokeswoman Nikki Ripley said Ching has served in various roles in the Tempe City Attorney's Office for most of the 20 years.
Ching has been the city attorney since 2006. His job will be filled by Judi Baumann while the council searches for a new city manager.
