David Stice
MESA, AZ (CBS5) -
A Mesa man was arrested Feb. 5 on suspicion of viewing and distributing child pornography online.
David Stice, 45, was booked into jail on three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, one count of possession of dangerous drugs and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
The investigation began several months ago. Detectives began a proactive search for suspects using computers to view, distribute and trade child pornography.
Police said they developed information that a computer being used in the 900 block of West Ninth Place had downloaded known child pornography, according to Mesa police spokesman Detective Steve Berry.
Detectives identified the residents and obtained a search warrant. At the time Stice was taken into custody, he was actively viewing child pornography on his computer, Berry said.
During a police interview, Stice admitted that he had used his computer to view and download child pornography.
