NORTH STONINGTON, CT (WFSB) -

Connecticut State Police arrested two North Stonington High School seniors in connection with the shooting of a pair of dairy cows in January.

Police said Marx Urso, 18, of North Stonington, and Henry Williamson, 20, of Pawcatuck, turned themselves in at the state police barracks in Montville on Monday.

"Worst sight I've seen on the farm," said Mark Taylor. "I'm been here 30 years."

Urso and Williamson are accused of being involved with the shooting of two cows with a hunting rifle on Jan. 27 in North Stonington. One of those cows had to later be euthanized, officials said.

"They need to be put away because they are very very sick, to shoot an innocent animal," said Taylor, who found the cows after being shot.

The 18-month-old one survived, but has a bullet forever lodged in her back.

Urso is facing several charges, including unlawful discharge of a firearm, cruelty to animals, criminal mischief and reckless endangerment. He is being held on a $25,000 bond and was arraigned Wednesday in New London Superior Court.

Police have charged Williamson with providing a false statement and hindering prosecution. He was arraigned on Wednesday.

"I'd really like to know why and what was going through their minds when something like this happens, pretty senseless," said Justin Zeppieri, who works on Palmer Farm.

Police are still looking for a third suspect, 23-year-old Todd Caswell, of North Stonington, in connection with the incident.

Williamson and Urso are out on bond. Urso must wear a GPS devise and cannot return to school.

School Superintendent Peter Nero said the district will do all it can to protect students and staff. Both teenagers are back in court next month.

Anyone with information into his whereabouts or the incident is asked to call State Police Troop E at 860-848-6500.
