A fire broke out at a home in Hartland early Wednesday morning.
Route 20 was closed between Hogback Road and Mill Street because of the fire.
Everyone was able to get out of the home safely, according to officials.
Several fire crews remain on scene, but emergency officials said the fire was brought under control.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Hartland Fire Marshal Peter Sevetz said he still has to interview the homeowner and the other adult, who lives at the home.
Sevetz said the homeowner had to drive to the Winsted Police Department to call for help because there was no working phone at the residence.
