Dodge is promoting the new Dart with a unique idea. It works like a wedding registry where the car is funded by family and friends.
If someone is in the market for a new car they can register for it online. The Dodge Dart Registry website is a form of crowdsourcing where various people can donate money to the new car.
"It's innovative you know, nobody has ever tried this before and the way that people are using social media more and more these days to communicate, I think it's a smart way for them to try and get the word out about a new car like the Dodge Dart," said Adam Traver, assistant sales manager with Schaefer and Bierlein.
Donations start at $1 and there are four different tiers of pledges. Each individual campaign has a 90-day time limit.
