The 11th Annual "Valley Has a Heart" food collection will be held Saturday, Feb. 16 at several Stop and Shop locations around the state of Connecticut.
Locations for the event include Ansonia, Seymour, and Shelton.
The fundraiser is looking raise enough nonperishable food items for several months and several thousand dollars in cash.
Officials told Eyewitness News that restocking the shelves is important, especially in winter months.
The collections will run from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at every Stop and Shop location.
Event organizers said they were looking for any non-perishable food items, but are in need of juices and powdered drink mixes, macaroni and cheese, soups, rice, coffee, tea and canned vegetables.
