Four Waterbury schools, Wolcott High School dismissed early

WATERBURY, CT (WFSB) -

Four schools in Waterbury are being dismissed early because of a power outage.

According to Waterbury schools, Wilby High School, North End Middle School, Bucks Hill Elementary School and Bucks Hill pre-K are all being dismissed because of the outage.

According to Connecticut Light & Power, a motor vehicle hit utility pole on Bucks Hill Road and caused the power outage.

The outage caused Wolcott High School to be dismissed at 1 p.m.

CL&P said it will take crews a few hours to repair the pole and return power to the area. Power is not expected to be restored until late afternoon Wednesday.

As of 12:45 p.m., there were 517 CL&P customers were without power. At the peak of the outage, there were 1,038 customers without power.
