Meeting being held on company's decision to allow unauthorized adult on bus

New Hartford, CT (WFSB) -

A meeting will be held Tuesday night to discuss a company's decision to allow an unauthorized adult to ride along on a bus filled with children.

Last month, a DATTCO supervisor gave the bus driver the green light to let the man onboard the school bus carrying elementary school children.

The man had not been cleared by DATTCO background checks.

The head of the company said the driver has been counseled over the issue, but has not been fired.

The incident set off a firestorm of controversy after an anonymous letter was sent around and posted on Facebook.

Parents and the school district want answers as to why and they're hoping they'll get some Tuesday night.

"That is not a good thing, she should be fired," said one unidentified parent.

The meeting is at 7 p.m. at the Ann Antolini School.
