Route 9 north briefly closed in Newington

NEWINGTON, CT (WFSB) -

The State Department of Transportation said Route 9 north was briefly closed in Newington Thursday morning.

According to the DOT, Route 9 was closed between exits 28 and 29 because of a vehicle fire after 9 a.m., but the highway was reopened a short time later.

It's unknown if anyone was injured.

No other information was released.
