SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -
Marcquel Robinson, 19, was arrested and taken into custody after allegedly leading police on a foot chase early Thursday morning.
Springfield police told us officers Matthew Longo and Daniel Huard were on duty at Milton Bradley School when they noticed Robinson standing near the building.
As the officers approached him, police said Robinson fled on foot and led them towards Temple Street. As they chased him, he attempted to climb up a snow bank where he then drew a silver handgun and pointed it directly at Longo.
Robinson was tackled to the ground as both officers wrestled with him until he was handcuffed a few moments later.
Officers recovered a fully loaded, .380 semi-automatic handgun that was said to be reported stolen in a housebreak in Philadelphia.
Robinson is facing several charges and was held throughout the morning in police lockup.
He will be arraigned later Thursday in Springfield District Court.
