Crash involving school van reported in Coventry

COVENTRY, CT (WFSB) -

A crash involving a school van was reported in Coventry on Tuesday morning, according to officials at Tolland County Dispatch.

Few details have been released, but officials said the crash was reported in the area of Boston Turnpike (Route 44) and Bread and Milk Street (Route 31) after 7 a.m.

According to emergency officials at the scene, there were twp people inside the van at the time of the crash, the driver and her 3-year-old daughter.

Both were brought to a local hospital to be checked out.

Officials said the driver of the vehicle that hit the van was eating at the time of the crash.

The crash will remain under investigation and it's unknown if the driver will be cited.

No other information was released.
