TEMPE, AZ (CBS5) -

Tempe police said they have a man in custody after he barricaded himself in a room at Sun Devil Stadium on the Arizona State University campus Thursday morning.

Julie Newberg of the ASU Police Department said the man claimed he was being followed when he shut himself in at the football stadium around 5 a.m.

She said the man, who claimed he was armed, was not affiliated with the university.

He was taken into custody about 6:45 a.m. and no gun was found, Newberg said.

No other information was immediately available.
