KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -
Undercover detectives began pursuing a suspect vehicle that later crashed. Two suspects ran from the vehicle, leaving a baby inside, police said Thursday afternoon.
The woman driving was taken to a hospital for treatment, but she is expected to make a complete recovery.
The chase began just before 1:30 p.m. when the detectives tried to stop the vehicle at 42nd Street and Prospect Avenue. A short chase occurred, and the suspect vehicle hit another vehicle, police said.
The woman and a passenger fled on foot, but were quickly caught. Police did not say whether the baby was turned over to social workers or a family member.
