ADRIAN, MI (Toledo News Now) -

Authorities in Adrian were involved in a standoff at a home on W. Maumee Street, between Madison Street and Scott Street, Saturday night.

The incident started around 4:30 p.m.,

Officials say the Lenawee County Surveillance and detective teams were doing surveillance on a suspect when the suspect entered a house. The suspect matched the description of a person wanted in connection with an armed robbery a few days ago in Madison Township.

According to detectives, the man was considered "armed and dangerous," so the Michigan State Police were called in for back up to set up a perimeter.

Around 9 p.m., police used tear gas to try to get the man to come out, but they were unsuccessful.

A robotic camera was then sent in, and police say they found evidence the man had climbed into the attic.

Shortly after midnight, police again used teargas, this time sending it up a vent.

The move worked, and the man surrendered without incident, according to the Lenawee County Sheriff's Office.

Officials say the man was the only person inside the house, and as of Sunday morning, charges against him are pending.
