The Real Estate Marketing Insider awards its weekly title of Tech Breakthrough of the Week to Facebook for their innovative new Graph Search function, following a news release in the Inman News that featured the “potentially revolutionary search engine.”
La Jolla, CA (PRWEB) March 17, 2013
The Real Estate Marketing Insider announced the winner of its Tech Breakthrough of the Week award, given to a new innovation or breakthrough in real estate marketing technology. This week’s winner is the social networking giant Facebook, whose Graph Search function could hold great potential for realtors and real estate firms who conduct business using the Facebook social network.
Facebook’s Graph Search function isn’t exclusively designed to enhance marketing for real estate agents, although the beta-test group with current access to the feature is small. Rather, it is designed as an add-on to the Facebook platform to eventually be available to all Facebook users, according to a news release in the Inman News. The general idea is simple: searches that can be targeted and narrowed using a variety of criteria, including – but not limited to – location, occupation, interests, and gender. The search function can be used to find friends and friends of friends at various degrees, or can globally search Facebook users. Search results show matching users’ profiles and mutual friends, allowing users to reach out to them through third parties. Graph Search’s marketing potential for realtors is great. Clients could easily target their realtor searches based on locations where they expect to buy, and can narrow their search down even further to find realtors that share their non-housing interests or ideals. For realtors that sell niche properties, such as San Diego vacation rentals, this service could go a long way in enhancing their visibility outside their home markets.
The Real Estate Marketing Insider thinks this could completely change the way realtors think about marketing. Using a ready-made network of potential clients like Facebook can save realtors time and resources on advertising. In preparation, REMI urges agents to pay attention to their Facebook presence by keeping it up to date, attractive, and personal. The Insider is anxiously awaiting the global release of Graph Search, and congratulates Facebook on its Tech Breakthrough of the Week award.
The Real Estate Marketing Insider awarded its Tech Breakthrough of the Week award to Facebook after Inman reported on its new Graph Search feature, currently in beta testing. The feature could be extremely useful in connecting realtors and clients, and REMI urged realtors to get their Facebook profiles in good working order prior to the feature’s release.
