NAUGATUCK, CT (WFSB) -

Students at Naugatuck High School are scheduled to practice an intruder alert along with local police officers.

The school is set to practice a "code black," which represents that an active shooter is on campus.

Under such an alert, students are to remain in their classrooms and move away from any windows and doors.

Officials said the point of the drill is "not to scare, but to prepare."
