Police are investigating a deadly accident at a Lenexa FedEx facility early Saturday morning.
Shawnee, KS, police said they were called to the facility, located 8000 Cole Parkway, about 3:40 a.m. When officer arrived, they found a man lying on the pavement close to a tandem tractor trailer rig. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to witnesses, the truck was trying to leave the facility when the accident occurred. The man was not hit by the truck but appeared to, for unknown reasons, fall under the wheels of one of the tandem trailers.
Police don't know why the man fell, but said they will continue to investigate.
Police are waiting to release the victim's name until after his family has been notified.
