First lane of Mass Pike closed until Wednesday morning

WARREN, MA (WSHM) -

A tractor-trailer crash on the eastbound side of the Massachusetts Turnpike in Warren caused significant delays throughout the day on Tuesday.

Following an early morning accident, the tractor-trailer was pinned up against a rock ledge next to the road, and fuel was spilling out.

The cleanup from the accident took hours and caused a heavy traffic backup.

In order to finish cleaning up, state police will close the first lane of the pike until 5 a.m. Wednesday.
