A 37-year-old woman is fighting for her life after being shot Tuesday night inside an east Nashville home full of small children.
The shooting occurred at a home in the 2500 block of Trevecca Avenue around 10 p.m.
Police said the woman, Teleen Sickles, was hit in the abdomen by a bullet that came flying through her window. Only one shot was fired, but it critically injured the woman.
Sickles was taken to the Vanderbilt Medical Center in stable condition, but police said it's unclear if she was targeted or if this was just a stray bullet that unintentionally hit the house.
Police said they didn't find any other bullet casings in the nearby area, and the curtains were closed, so the shooter probably couldn't see inside to target a specific person.
